Change of Season
‘I always wonder why the birds stay in the same place, when they could fly anywhere. Then I ask myself the same question.’
The subject stares at the birds outside her apartment, considering her own future. She knows what she wants, but yet senses her own stagnation, a kind of situational paralysis, caused by fear. This painting is ultimately about dealing with frustration, the top layer of the feeling.
