What the Mind Sees

This painting aims to engage the audience in reflection of our understanding of truth. It supposes that much of what we see, is not so much what is? But rather we look for. We see less with our eyes and more with our mind. The subject of the painting is blindfolded to exaggerate this point and draw the viewers’ attention to their own way of seeing things. What do you see?

The accompanying verse is an extract from verse by the same title.

‘As an artist I see beauty,

As a write I see humanity,

As an explorer I see opportunity,

As a believer I see hope,

As a poet I see sadness,

As a dreamer I see love.

All are honest,

Non are truthful.
