Tenderness

This painting dips in the world of the surreal, to draw the viewers attention to the power of tenderness.

Although clearly a play on the weird and wonderful concept of metaphysics, it contrasts the brutality of the hunt with the gentle, warmth of the child who draws out one of the hounds in a moment of ‘tenderness’.

All too little experienced for many in this world, is the feeling of safety and care. The weight of expectation, the stab of insult and the lack of genuine kindness is the hidden sadness that many experience.

The painting offers a moment of perspective.

It brings back to mind a Biblical scripture that describes the way we should treat one another Romans 12:10 . For some it may seem like idealism, but imagine what life would be like in a world where each of us applied this?
