Industrious Irene

This piece is about the folly of trying to do it all and the vanity of perfectionism.

The subject is painted in ‘Pinup Style’, with its sensual, idealism of the 20th Centuries golden era, complete with paradisaic background. All while she carries the tokens of her busy life with grace and charm. The painting is a satirical look at our often-futile attempts to be successful and independent women (or men) in world in love with the fantasy of having it all.

The piece is dedicated to all of us ‘who bite off more than we can chew… and then stubbornly chew it anyway’.
