The Good Life

The painting is a moment in life, that is both simple but full of meaning. It’s based on some prose I wrote in response to the question, what is ‘the good life’ to you?

It’s a peaceful evening under the moon, feeling small yet full of potential. It’s deep, raw, honest conversations with trusted friends. It’s harmony, love and laughter in my family. It’s discovering new music and faraway places. It’s expressing my messiest feelings in prayer, knowing I will be understood. It’s the awe I feel watching the sun rise (or set). It’s the spark of a new idea and rush of inspiration. It’s a true connection where silence isn’t awkward, and time apart doesn’t change anything. And in all of this, it’s balance, accepting everything has its time and its place. (RL)
